With programs led by our Urban Park Rangers, kids will get to experience nature in a hands-on and fun way. Let’s learn how to get an up close look at birds without the need for wings! We will teach you ways to identify birds by sight and sounds.

NYC Parks: Pitch in for Bronx Ballfields!
Join your fellow leagues, teams, players, and spectators in volunteering to clean up fields and courts in parks across the Bronx. Help maintain and beautify our shared green spaces! Tools and gloves will be provided. Participants should wear long comfortable clothing and bring a water bottle.
We're grateful for the generosity of the New York Yankees, who will reward volunteers with complimentary tickets to a future Yankees game.

NYC Parks Stewardship: Pelham Bay Park - Rodman's Neck Coastal Cleanup
Volunteer with the Stewardship Team to protect coastal areas in Pelham Bay Park - Rodman's Neck! Volunteers will help us remove the debris from the coastline creating a healthier ecosystem. Face masks may be worn at your discretion. Come dressed in sturdy boots or shoes, long pants, and clothing that can get dirty.

Winter Waterfowl Walk with Chrissy Word
Join Bronx resident and veteran bird watcher, Chrissy Word, to observe the winter waterfowl of Pelham Bay Park which attracts a great host of beautiful ducks, geese, and other waterbirds in wintertime. We'll visit some of the best locations to spot them and share our knowledge about these secretive birds that can truly surprise and captivate once we get a good look at them.
Chrissy Word is the Director of Education at the City Parks Foundation and a member of the Friends of Pelham Bay Park.

Urban Park Rangers: Siwanoy Trail Winter Hike
Explore the Siwanoy Trail with the Urban Park Rangers. This trail is named after the Native American Siwanoy who inhabited the land along the coastlines of the Long Island Sound, Eastchester Bay, and Pelham Bay, between Connecticut and the southern Bronx. This trail is known for wildlife such as deer, owls, and coyotes.

Bronx Arts Ensemble: Vessels to Motherland at Pelham Bay Park
Bronx-native and electronic artist Adrian Martinez will join forces with the NYC-based electroacoustic duo Vessels to Motherland to present a 1-hour sound journey celebrating the mind, body, heart, and spirit of The Bronx. Sample interviews with Bronx residents, combined with the live performance of synthesizers, drum machines, keyboards, and electric violin, will intertwine in a complex, raw, and spacious sound fabric expressing darkness and light.
This event is no longer happening on August 24, due to weather. Please join us on August 31 for Vessels to Motherland.

Miss the magic of the drive-in movie? Or maybe you were too young to experience it? Join us in the Orchard Beach Parking Lot for a free screening of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever on a very big screen!

This event starts at 7 pm, but be sure to arrive before 8:15 pm. There will be no entry after 8:15 pm. You don't want to miss the movie!
Buses will run after the movie to take you to the 6 train (at the Pelham Bay Park Station). No car required!

Beach Days | Riviera Nights: Silent Disco
Are you looking for a sweet night out? Dance the evening away at Orchard Beach! Silent Disco comes to the rink area at Section 4: don headphones and pick the music. We'll have three channels, including a live DJ. Choose your favorite and dance the night away!
Feel free to bring your own music and headphones, but only the headphones we have will be able to tune into our DJs.
Headphones are first come, first serve.
You will need a photo ID to leave as collateral for the free headphone rental.
